Who We Are

Ventures for Excellence was founded in 1978 to expand a mission and to provide expertise in the areas of selection and development of people. A former professor, trainer and consultant believed in the immense impact that talent and theme-based selection and development practices had on organizations, and dedicated over 40 years to the study and implementation of these practices across the nation. Ventures for Excellence primarily focuses their efforts in education, but continues to partner with professional businesses as well. Ventures for Excellence associates have trained thousands of school and business leaders on the importance of selecting the right employees and maximizing the talents of people.     

In November of 2007, Ventures for Excellence teamed up with Brad Black, President and Managing Director of HUMANeX, an HR selection, training and development firm, forming HUMANeX Ventures^®. The fusion of this passion for building talent and purpose-driven organizations and communities was amplified and the vision was expanded to touch not only education, but also healthcare, manufacturing, ministry, community service, hospitality, business and service organizations. Their united mission is, “Professionals educating, equipping, serving, and supporting Professionals to build significant and sustained impact and legacies.”

This mission is primarily accomplished through the commitment and focus to cutting edge best practices in talent selection and integrated development. Theme-based selection tools that are able to identify thoughts, feelings and behaviors are essential to measuring and predicting the probability of success within a role, team and organization. HUMANeX Ventures^® has developed a wide range of top quality instruments that refine, support, and equip organizational strategies to achieve high levels of excellence within their industry. These strategies include individual in-depth assessments coupled with specific recommendations and action items aimed to further engage and develop individuals to realize their full potential.
